The New Year is Coming!!
Written by Ann Malone
Dec 29, 2009 at 06:41 AM

After what seems like forever, I have internet service again!!  Just in time for the New Year.

2009 was the Year of SUCK-Y-NESS!!

2010 will  be the Year of Winning. I so proclaim.  I shall win and win a lot in the year 2010… My quest for a winning year will begin with the OB Cues Tour first stop at Rusty’s in Arlington.  My short goal… win a damn match.  Mid-goal, win a few matches and get in, or near the money.  High/lofty/unrealistic goal, win the damn thing.  :)

But let’s start with trying to get to the pool-hall to actually PRACTICE for a change… my new buddy, Ashley, has been good at pushing me to do better and to play/practice more.  I think she’ll be a good practice partner.

Better get started… Rusty’s is January 23rd & 24th… it’s coming up fast!  Go Me!

2’n’out!!  Twice in one weekend… I need to stop doing that…

First match: Robyn Petrosino, I lost 4 – 7.  I played “ok”… I was too careful at first, knowing she’s a really good player, I was trying too hard not to let her get to the table.  Which, of course, got her to the table faster.  Then, when I tried to bare down, I over did it.  I did get to a comfortable in between, but it was too late.

My next match was a breeze!!  In fact, I didn’t have to play hard at all.  OK, so I got a BYE…  :)

My “third” match was against Sultana Christenson, she was fun to play against.  I do, however, think I should have played much better against her and should have gotten that match.  Instead, I lost 3 – 7.

So off to Sunday’s Second Chance Tournament for me!  I “qualified” for it.  :)

Sunday morning, I drew the lovely Tracie Voelkering first… I was up 2 – 0 and just let her roll over me.  She’s a great player and I knew it was gonna be tough.  She gave me a few opportunities, but I just couldn’t get it done.  I lost 2 – 5.  Tracie went on to get 2nd Place!  Yea Tracie!!

My last match was against Christy Murphy.  It was her first OB Stop and we had a lot of fun playing.  I would have had MORE fun if I had won… but, no.  I lost 1 – 5.  :(

Alright… off to LEARN HOW TO PLAY NOW.  I’ll get it together for the next stop!  It’s in Arlington at Rusty’s on October 24-25.  That’s *my* stop… I’m winning it.  yep.  :)
